One address, the same everywhere.
Maintain locations once, use them everywhere
Dealer map, Click & Collect, warehouses – they all work with the same location data. The Location Framework brings branches, pickup points and warehouses together in one central place and provides them to all OPAL modules: maintained once, up to date and consistent everywhere.
What the OPAL solves for you
One address, maintained once: branches, pickup points and warehouses live in one place – no duplicate entries, no conflicting address data.
One location, several roles: the same branch can appear on the map, serve as a pickup point and act as a warehouse at the same time – without being created more than once.
Switch off a role, keep the location: a type of use can be ended – for example, no more pickups in Berlin – without deleting the location.
These OPALs use the Location Framework
The Location Framework is the shared foundation – these OPALs build on it and use the same locations:
OPAL Click & Collect
Customers pick up their order at a branch or pickup point – selected right in the checkout.
To the OPALOPAL Store & Dealer Map
Shows your branches or the dealers who sell your products as an interactive map in your store.
To the OPALPart of the OPAL family
OPALs are building blocks from OXID eSales: a proven, solid foundation that needs to be adapted to your system landscape and integrated into your store.

Central location management in the admin area
Locations with name, address (country selected from a list instead of free text), optional geo-coordinates for the map, opening hours, additional info, active and visibility status, and sort order – with an overview list by name, city, roles and status.
Several roles per location
A location can have several roles at once – branch, pickup point, warehouse. Which roles are available depends on the installed modules; you assign or remove them individually per location without affecting the others.
Multilingual content
Name, opening hours and additional info can be maintained per language – using the standard OXID translation, with a fallback to the base language if a translation is missing.
Internal locations stay out of sight
A visibility flag keeps internal locations such as warehouses manageable without showing them in the storefront. Only what is meant to be visible externally is delivered.
Protection against accidental deletion
If a location still has data from a module attached – such as completed Click & Collect orders – it is protected from deletion. In the admin area you can see which modules still need it.
Orphaned references visible and confirmed
References from a module that has since been removed are flagged as "orphaned". A location with such references can only be deleted after explicit confirmation – no silent data loss when uninstalling.
Who is the OPAL for?
Partners / Agencies
Your clients use several location features – dealer map, pickup, warehouses – and maintain the same addresses multiple times.
What the OPAL delivers here
You create the locations once, centrally; the individual modules (Store & Dealer Map, Click & Collect …) access them through a stable interface. One address, one source – your modules stay decoupled and work with the same, consistent data.
