Dunning according to plan.

Follow up on unpaid orders systematically

Open payments are best resolved before they become a problem. The OPAL reminds your customers in good time and in the right tone – and stops on its own as soon as the order is marked as paid in the shop. This keeps the contact friendly, and you only deal with the cases that really need attention.

What the OPAL solves for you

Unpaid orders with the payment methods you select receive reminders automatically and on time – without you having to keep lists.

Each run moves exactly one level further – so no customer gets the final dunning notice right away without prior warning.

For each order, it is documented which level was sent when and with what result.

Works well with

With the Credit Limit Management OPAL

While dunning follows up on open amounts, Credit Limit Management limits how much a customer may have outstanding in the first place – new purchases stop in checkout once the limit is reached.

Part of the OPAL family

OPALs are building blocks from OXID eSales: a proven, solid foundation that needs to be adapted to your system landscape and integrated into your shop.

Features at a glance

Five levels, each configurable on its own

From a friendly payment reminder to a debt collection notice: five dunning levels, each with its own wording, its own surcharge and its own interval. The defaults are 14, 12, 10, 7 and 5 days.

Automatic or manual

Automatic dunning moves due orders to the next level via cron job. You can send individual cases manually from the order view at any time – with a customizable subject, text and surcharge.

Always just one level further

A run escalates an order by exactly one level, even if it has been open for a long time. This way, no customer gets the final dunning notice right away without prior warning. Once the order is marked as paid in the shop, the automation stops dunning.

Traceable dunning history

For each order, you see the current level, the last sending date and the result of every sending – sent, failed with reason, or suppressed. Optionally, there is a shop-wide overview of the dunning status.

Text per level and language

The wording of each level comes from a maintainable text snippet, in the language of the order. German and English texts are included; for other languages, you create text snippets. You determine the content and therefore the tone.

Sent via your shop emails

Dunning notices go out via your shop's email setup, with the wording from your text snippets. If you like, a blind copy goes to an address of your choice.
