OPALDropshipping

Incoming orders are automatically split by supplier and the suppliers are notified by email – without passing them on manually.

OXID eShop 7.4Direct from the platform vendor

Drop shipping without manual work.

Pass orders on to your suppliers automatically

With drop shipping, every order goes to the right supplier without manual work. The OPAL takes care of this when the order comes in: items that the supplier ships directly are bundled into one sub-order per supplier and automatically reported to that supplier.

What the OPAL solves for you

Automatically split by supplier: When an order comes in, one sub-order with that supplier's items is created per supplier – the rest remains as a separate partial delivery.

Supplier informed automatically: Each supplier receives an email with their line items; a failed email does not block the order and can be resent in the admin area.

Tracking back to the customer: The tracking number reported by the supplier ends up on the sub-order and with the customer – without a second interface.

Part of the OPAL family

OPALs are building blocks from OXID eSales: a proven, solid foundation that needs to be adapted to your system landscape and integrated into your shop.

Features at a glance

Set up suppliers as direct shippers

Each supplier has a "DropShipping" section for the order email, the address and the "Order processing via email" switch; address and email are then mandatory. You flag suppliers that ship directly themselves with "Own warehouse" and assign their items to them.

Automatic splitting when an order comes in

As soon as an order comes in, the items of suppliers flagged "Own warehouse" are bundled into one sub-order per supplier. All other items form a separate remaining partial delivery, so the entire order is covered. The function can be enabled per shop.

Supplier email with all the details

After the split, each supplier receives an email with their line items, the order and delivery number and the shipping address. The text is multilingual content you can edit in the admin area. A failed email does not block the order – the shop operator is informed and can resend it specifically.

Overview in the order tab

A "DropShipping" section in the order lists the supplier sub-orders with their notification status (sent, failed or pending), the error message, the delivery status including tracking, and a button to resend.

Record the supplier's shipping notification

You enter the tracking number and expected delivery date for each supplier sub-order in the admin area. This marks it as shipped, saves the tracking and notifies the customer – without you having to transfer the number to a second interface.

No duplicate customer email

A tracking number reported later updates the sub-order without triggering a second customer email. Shipping notifications are only accepted for sub-orders that belong to a supplier.

Builds on these OPALs

Dropshipping builds on these two OPALs:

OPAL Fulfillment Framework

The common foundation for all supply chain OPALs – the data model of the delivery units.

OPAL Partial Deliveries

Splitting orders into partial deliveries, which Dropshipping builds on.

To the OPAL

What the OPAL delivers here
