Every shipping rule traceable.
See why which shipping rule applies
With several shipping methods, cost rules, customer groups, countries and payment methods, you want to know exactly why one rule applies and another doesn’t. The simulator runs a cart of your choice, including its context, through in the admin area and logs the shop’s real selection: which rule applies, what it costs and why every other one was not applied.
What the OPAL solves for you
Find shipping cost errors before checkout: misconfigurations become apparent in the admin area.
Answers the real question – why not? Not just which rule applies, but why the expected one doesn’t, with a reason for each rule.
Safe, even in the live shop: no run uses real carts, and every run is fully rolled back at the end.
Part of the OPAL family
OPALs are building blocks from OXID eSales: a proven, solid foundation that needs to be adapted to your system landscape and integrated into your shop.

Freely put together cart and context
In the admin area, you put together a cart with up to 100 line items – using a product search – and choose the context: delivery country, customer groups, credit rating, currency and payment method.
Which rule applies – and why not the others
The result names the active shipping method, the costs and the rules that produced them. For every rule and shipping method that was not applied, a specific reason is given – such as country, customer group, an unmet tier or a missing payment method.
Step-by-step log
A selection log shows every shipping method in the shop’s order with its status and, for each shipping method, the rules checked along with their status and reason.
Every rule in plain language
Every rule is described in plain language – order value, quantity, weight or dimension tiers, fixed or percentage surcharge.
Check scheduled rules in advance
Using a reference date, you see which time-controlled shipping methods and rules would apply on that day. That way you check a scheduled changeover before its period begins. The simulation always uses the saved configuration.
Says when it can’t explain something
If the log deviates from the result – for example because another module intervenes in the selection – the simulator points this out instead of showing an explanation that isn’t correct. It even names the extension that removed a shipping method.
