OPALRequested & Delivery Date

Customers enter a requested delivery date in the checkout, your team maintains the planned delivery date – transparent in the shop, traceable in the administration area and connectable via API.

For OXID eShop 7.4Directly from the platform vendor

Customers ask about the delivery date.

Clear delivery dates instead of enquiries

Customers want to know when delivery will happen. Without a structured field, requests end up in order comments or in support, and date changes are not traceable. The OPAL cleanly separates the non-binding requested delivery date from the process-relevant planned delivery date, shows both transparently and logs every change.

What the OPAL solves for you

1.Optionally capture the requested delivery date in the checkout.

2.Maintain the planned delivery date in the administration area – with a reason, timestamp and change history.

3.Show customers the requested and planned date in the shop – configurable – and connect third-party systems via the OXAPI.

Before / After

Before

Delivery requests are in the order comment or arrive by email.

After

A structured requested delivery date is attached directly to the order and is visible in the shop as well as in the administration area.

Before

Customers receive no feedback on the delivery date after ordering.

After

The planned delivery date is – optionally – shown in the frontend and communicated by email when it changes.

Part of the OPAL family

OPALs are building blocks from OXID eSales: a proven, solid foundation that needs to be adapted to your system landscape and integrated into your shop.

Features at a glance

Requested delivery date in the checkout

Planned delivery date in the administration area

Maintain, change and remove it separately from the customer request – directly on the order.

Change history

Every change is recorded with a reason, source and timestamp.

Display in the frontend

The requested and planned date can be shown or hidden separately in the order history and the thank-you page.

Email on date change

Customers are notified automatically when the planned delivery date changes.

Who is this OPAL for?

Shop operator / e-commerce manager

Your customers regularly ask about the delivery date, and requests end up unstructured in order comments or in support.

What the OPAL delivers here

You get a clean field for the requested date in the checkout – with a note that it is a non-binding request – and a separate planned delivery date for fulfilment. If you want, customers see both dates in the shop, and you can communicate changes to the planned date automatically by email. That reduces enquiries and documents delivery dates reliably.
