Lock specific pages, not the whole store.
Take individual pages out of public view
Internal pages, test pages, a page before launch: not every page in your store should be visible to everyone. Instead of putting the whole store behind a login, you enter the address – the store detects the page behind it and locks it. Visitors see a clean 404 error page; for you, the page stays accessible via the admin area.
What the OPAL solves for you
Your store keeps selling: while you work on individual pages, everything else runs as usual – no maintenance mode for the whole store.
No back door: whether in another language, with a different spelling or via a second category – a locked page stays locked.
Done by you: locking and unlocking takes a few clicks in the admin area, with no developer and no code changes.
Part of the OPAL family
OPALs are building blocks from OXID eSales: a proven, solid foundation that needs to be adapted to your system landscape and integrated into your store.

Just paste the address
You copy the address from the browser's address bar and paste it in. The store detects which page is behind it and shows it in the "Detected page" column – category, product, content page, manufacturer, vendor or store page.
The page is locked, not the spelling
The address in your main language, its variants in other languages and the technical form all count as the same page for the lock. Anyone who calls up the page by another route also ends up at the lock.
One category locks the whole branch
If you lock a category, its subcategories, all products in it and their variants are locked too – even if a product can also be reached via a second category.
For internal and test pages too
If the store does not recognize an address – an internal page, a test page, a maintenance page – the entry locks that address and everything below it.
Clean 404 page instead of a login redirect
A locked page responds with status 404 and your store's error page. To visitors it looks as if it does not exist – no hint of the page, no prompt to log in.
You keep working, visitors don't get in
With a store account that has access to the admin area, locked pages stay visible and editable for you. The admin area itself always remains accessible, without you having to configure anything.
Who is the OPAL for?
Store operations and IT
You have pages that nobody outside should see – an internal page, a test page or a page that is currently being reworked.
What the OPAL delivers here
You take internal pages, test pages or work in progress out of public view in seconds – with no developer and no rebuild. Visitors no longer stumble across half-finished pages, and you keep working undisturbed in the background.
