Round the amount payable cleanly – Swiss 5-centime rule
In Switzerland, the amount payable has to be rounded to 5 centimes (CHF 0.05) – the OXID core cannot do that. The Flexible Price Rounding OPAL rounds the cart total using commercial rounding or rounding up, shows the difference openly and writes the rounded amount to the order. Individual prices and line items stay accurate to the centime.

2.Choose the mode (commercial/round up) and precision (whole amounts, 0.10 or 0.05) per subshop.

Round cart total
Rounds the cart total, i.e. the amount the customer pays. This is the Swiss 5-centime rounding. It makes no difference whether your store displays prices net or gross.
Round individual prices (generic)
Optionally, individual product prices can be rounded. This generic function changes the line totals and is not Swiss-compliant – it stays off for Switzerland. Both options are disabled by default.
Mode & precision
Two rounding types: commercial (standard rounding) or always round up. Three precisions: whole amounts (1.00), tenths (0.10) or twentieths (0.05). For Switzerland: mode "commercial", precision 0.05.
Theme-independent & unobtrusive
Rounding works in every storefront theme, not just the default theme. Both options are off out of the box – without activation, amounts stay unchanged.
Difference shown transparently
When rounding changes the amount, the signed difference is shown openly: in the checkout above the total, in the confirmation email (HTML and text) and in the admin order view.
Rounded amount persisted
The OXID core writes the rounded total to oxorder.oxtotalordersum, the difference to a separate order column. This way the account area and document-related reports show the amount actually charged.
