An incentive that kicks in on its own.
A gift once the cart reaches a certain value
You set a threshold and the gift that comes with it. Once a cart reaches the threshold, the free item is added automatically – no voucher code, no action needed from the customer. If the value drops again, the gift disappears on its own. A simple offer to your customers that you can fine-tune with multiple tiers.
What the OPAL solves for you
A gift from a certain cart value: once the cart reaches your threshold, the store adds the free item automatically – no voucher code, no action needed from the customer.
Multiple tiers at once: you define several thresholds – anyone who exceeds more than one receives the gifts of all tiers reached.
Adapts to the cart: if the value drops below the threshold again, the gift disappears on its own. No outdated free item is left behind.
Part of the OPAL family
OPALs are building blocks from OXID eSales: a proven, solid foundation that needs to be adapted to your system landscape and integrated into your store.

Tiers as amounts, items assigned
In the admin area, you create tiers as amounts in the store currency (for example "from €50") and assign each tier the items that should be added from that point on.
Comes and goes with the cart value
When the cart reaches a tier, the gift is added automatically; if the value drops below it again, the gift disappears on its own. The customer doesn't have to enter anything or redeem a code.
Multiple tiers at once
If a cart exceeds several thresholds, it receives the gifts of all tiers reached. Within a tier, a priority number determines the order of the items.
Only available items are given
Before each addition, the OPAL checks whether the item is actually available. A gift that isn't given is recorded with the reason in the store's log – so you can see why it wasn't added.
As a separate line item at €0.00
The gift appears as a separate line in the cart, priced at 0.00 and clearly labeled. Customers immediately recognize the free item as such.
Off by default until you switch it on
Newly created tiers and assignments stay inactive until you activate them; a main switch keeps the entire module off until you turn it on. That way, the store doesn't give away anything you haven't decided on.
Who is the OPAL for?
E-commerce manager
You want to increase the average cart value – and you have remaining stock, discontinued items or product samples that work well as a thank-you.
What the OPAL delivers here
Many customers are happy to add a little more to their cart to secure the gift. Along the way, you clear remaining stock or samples without having to sell them off cheaply – and you delight your customers.
