Decide with numbers, not gut feeling.
Which variant sells better?
The OPAL brings A/B testing directly into your OXID store: you create variants, split your visitors by percentage and read from clicks, conversions and cart value which version performs better. The evaluation is based on the numbers from your own store.
What the OPAL solves for you
You create alternative versions of an element, such as a banner. Your store keeps count of which one leads to a purchase more often.
You see clicks, conversions and cart value per variant – and at a glance which one is currently ahead.
You set up tests in the admin area without code and adopt the leading variant with one click.
Part of the OPAL family
OPALs are building blocks from OXID eSales: a proven, solid foundation that needs to be adapted to your system landscape and integrated into your store.

Testable elements
Product pages (titles, descriptions and other product fields), categories and lists (title, description), checkout steps as well as banners and CMS content.
Variants & traffic split
Any number of variants (A/B/C…) per experiment, percentage-based visitor weighting and one variant as the control (the unchanged original), plus a start and end date for the runtime.
Consistent assignment per visitor
Within an experiment, a visitor always sees the same variant – deterministically, without server-side state. Without consent to recognition, no experiment is shown and no assignment is stored.
Choose target and fields via search
You search for the target object – product, category or content – by name or product number; you pick the fields to override from the object's actual fields. HTML fields get a rich-text editor if a WYSIWYG module is installed.
Measurement from your store data
Impressions, clicks, conversions and revenue per variant are recorded automatically – based on the actual order and cart data, not a separate tracking system. That way the numbers don't deviate from your store figures.
Results dashboard
For each variant you see the click-through rate, conversion rate and average cart value. The variant currently in the lead is marked.
Who is the OPAL for?
Shop operators focused on conversion
You want to know which product page, which button text or which banner sells better – instead of guessing.
What the OPAL delivers here
You decide with numbers instead of gut feeling: you see which version really sells more and use exactly that one permanently. Every improvement you find this way then applies to all visitors. And if a change doesn't prove itself after all, there's no risk, because you can get the original back at any time.
